Nanjizal Beach
For the shortest walking route park at Lands End Car Park and descend along the south coast path from the far side of the car park. You can also park at Porthgwarra and walk North along the coast path. Either way, the views are pretty spectacular.I would recommend proper footwear such as trainers or proper walking boots, definitely no flip flops! We had a lovely Sunday walk here and also had to grab wee Angus by the scruff of the neck and pop him on the lead for part of the way as the pathway got a bit crumbly and a bit too open sided especially for a bouncy springer! The views are wonderful! No matter how many photos you take you've just got to be there and see it for yourself. This is a great family walk with the lots to take in, wildlife, rock sculptures, caves and rockpools to explore once you have descended the steep access onto the beach and clambered across the large boulders.
Particularly striking is the mermaid like lagoon and backdrop of part cave, part archway(Song of the Sea rock arch).Great to explore beaches off the beaten track and away from the crowds; and although there are no facilities there and you feel like you've walked a long long way you can get back to the car park in about half an hour, a bit longer from Porthgwarra, perhaps almost an hour and a bit longer in general if you have kids with you. Overall to land on a beach like this surrounded by the beautiful scenery you feel like you're a million miles away..This is a great spot for wild swimming but only if experienced and check the tides.
It is dog friendly all year round. Hooray!
